City Council approved a $4.8 million contract with Millis Development and Construction yesterday to improve the downtown water tower park by creating a lawn, seating areas, a food truck parking area, and updating the historic Johnson Building (which will include decorative gas pumps and sculptures that honor local history, as well as a memorial plaza for William Koughan). Construction will begin in September and is expected to last nine months while also addressing repairs to the water tower lighting damaged by monk parakeets.
