- ➤ The Round Rock City Council held a first reading on a proposed 5% rate increase for Republic Services—this would raise the monthly residential charge for garbage from $23.67 to $24.69. If approved at the Oct. 23 meeting, the new rates will go into effect after Nov. 1. City of Round Rock
- ➤ At its October 9 meeting, Mayor Craig Morgan and the City Council proclaimed October 13 as Indigenous Peoples’ Day and November as National Native American Heritage Month for Round Rock — a decision that honors local tribes such as Tonkawa and Comanche.
