- ➤ Williamson County on Wednesday named TW Dieckmann as the new senior director for Parks and Recreation—he will serve as the fourth parks director after Russel Fishbeck retires at the end of the month. CBS Austin
- ➤ Round Rock officials have set a detour for southbound traffic on Chisholm Trail between Sam Bass Road and Emmanuel Street from Oct. 8 through Nov. 1 due to unknown utilities discovered during storm drain work—drivers must use the I-35 frontage road to Sunset Drive and note that on-street parking is unavailable. Construction will pause for the holidays in November and December—with work resuming in early 2026. City of Round Rock
