Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 1st of October.
Good morning, Round Rock.
🏛️ Government
Williamson County officials enacted a countywide burn ban on Tuesday because drought conditions forced them to limit outdoor burning of yard waste and vegetation.
The ban lasts up to 90 days—violators face a Class C misdemeanor with fines up to $500.
Central Texans who rely on Meals on Wheels and the Food Bank could soon face service cuts if a government shutdown begins, affecting hundreds who depend on these programs.
U.S. Rep. Greg Casar urged lawmakers to act now—he said that avoiding health care cuts and ensuring proper funding are key to protecting these services.
