- ➤ Round Rock Public Library will host the 4th Annual Paint Your Pet Art Show from September 2—October 14, inviting residents to submit pet portraits in person at the 3rd-floor service desk by September 15 or online by email. Artworks will be displayed on the library’s first-floor exhibit visible from Liberty Avenue and must be picked up between October 16—November 16 with in-person entries claimed by November 17. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Round Rock City Council approved an agreement with Ascension Seton to buy 2.45 acres for $489,078 at the intersection of University Boulevard and Seton Parkway so the fire department can build Fire Station 11 near the hospital — the station will include a satellite office for police and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. - ➤ On August 14th, the Round Rock City Council voted to set a maximum property tax rate of 37.2 cents per $100 of value for fiscal 25-26—2.4 cents above last year's no new revenue rate needed for public safety hires and bond projects. At that rate, owners of median homes would see an increase of about $7.88 per month, and the Council will hold its public hearing on the tax rate on August 28th. City of Round Rock
