GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Abbott toured Kerr County on Tuesday after the July 4 weekend floods and said he will include all affected areas in a special session for disaster relief—while other counties wait for federal disaster declarations. Travis and Williamson counties are still completing damage assessments as state crews work to rebuild—important steps before any new federal aid request is made.  CBS Austin
  • Travis County, TDEM and local groups are supporting residents hit by recent flooding by carrying out search and rescue efforts, assessing bridge repairs and providing free trash drop-offs at the FM1431 Citizens Collection Center in Leander.
