Good morning, Round Rock.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is seeking foster families after taking in about 60 animals from the Lampasas evacuation and 112 from Georgetown’s recent flood order.

The shelter asks helpers to register at noon and care for dogs, cats, kittens and bottle baby kittens with special needs — donations and volunteer tasks are also available.

After destructive flash floods hit Williamson County over the weekend, emergency crews recovered 65-year-old Sherry Richardson from her flooded home behind Hope House and found 22-year-old Kaitlyn Swallow near CR 284 as they search for missing persons; Hope House’s 13 medically fragile children and three on-duty staff—evacuated by military helicopters and local responders—now face rebuilding and cleanup efforts.

Round Rock ISD students did very well on the 2025 National Spanish Exam—earning national medals at Pearson Ranch Middle, Cedar Valley Middle, Chisholm Trail Middle, Stony Point High, and Westwood High—and qualifying for scholarships that honor their strong skills in reading, grammar, and listening.
