- ➤ The merger between the regional and Georgetown animal shelters will be official on July 14 when Georgetown’s campus becomes the centralized location—cats will move to the county campus and dog adoptions will be offered from a repurposed facility next to San Gabriel Park. A celebration with free adoptions is scheduled on July 19—providing Round Rock residents with expanded pet services and community programs. FOX 7 Austin

- ➤ Round Rock will begin construction on the Chisholm Trail South project Tuesday, July 1. The project extending from Sam Bass Road to RM 620 will rebuild pavement, upgrade sidewalks and utilities, and detour southbound traffic on Chisholm Trail Road between Poker Alley and Emmanuel Street until early fall 2026.
