- ➤ Yesterday, the Central Texas SPCA broke ground on a new state-of-the-art animal shelter in Leander—replacing decades-old trailers to create air-conditioned suites for 35 dogs and sunny suites for 20 cats. - ➤ Round Rock Riot Rugby Football Club builds a safe and inclusive community this Pride Month by fielding three teams: Rage for women, Ruckus for queer men and Rumble as a social team to support all players. - ➤ Williamson County officials celebrated a new bridge spanning Highway 79 between Hutto and Taylor on Friday when school buses, police, and emergency vehicles took the first drive on it—part of a $95 million Eastern Williamson County Highway project funded by a 2019 bond and TxDOT. - ➤ On June 17, 2025, the board met to review the school year's budget, strategic goals, and SHAC recommendations while CFO Dennis Covington presented a 2025–26 budget update showing an $11 million deficit; the meeting also approved the district budget plan, an agreement for the employee worksite health clinic, and delegate selections for the TASB Delegate Assembly.
