EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Six Round Rock ISD campuses, including Joe Lee Johnson Elementary STEAM Academy, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock, Stony Point and Westwood high schools, earned the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School designation for 2024-2025 to honor their excellence in STEM education. McNeil High School celebrated the honor for the eighth time, showing the district's strong commitment to hands-on, project-based learning. Round Rock Independent School District
- ➤ Round Rock ISD trustees approved a compensation plan Tuesday night for the 2025–26 school year that raises classroom teacher salaries by $2,500 for those with 3–4 years of experience and $5,000 for those with 5 or more years while local funds will provide a 1% increase for support staff not covered by HB2. The plan follows the Texas Legislature passing HB2 on May 29 & officials said the board will review the proposed budget on June 17 & work to reduce a projected deficit.
