Stony Point High School's Solar Car Club — a team focused on renewable energy — is preparing to compete at Texas Motor Speedway this July against teams from across the country.

They will vie in several build categories to see who can build the best solar car.

The City of Round Rock began construction early 2025 to rebuild County Road 112 in Northeast Round Rock into a six-lane divided roadway with added sidewalks, curb and gutter, and updated storm drainage — the project has a $54.5 million budget, is managed by Dan Williams Company, and will finish fall 2026.

H-Town Throwdown Concert
