Good morning, Round Rock.

Round Rock Parks and Recreation is kicking off summer with its free Friday Fun Nights series at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park today from 7:30 to 10 p.m. — the event features giant 8-foot pizzas cooked by Dirt Road Cookers, games, live music by People’s Choice Band, adult beverages from 3rd Level Brewing, coffee from Far Horizon Coffee, and treats from Kona Ice — and offers scenic views of Bright Lake with pergolas and terraced seating.

Round Rock City Council approved the Greenlawn Boulevard widening project on May 22 to expand the road from I-35 to SH 45 with six lanes and an 8-foot separated bicycle path along a one-mile stretch—construction will begin this summer and last about 14 months.

Williamson County health officials confirmed on May 22 that a Leander school-aged child was diagnosed with measles and is isolating at home.

Officials — working with local schools and Texas DSHD — are investigating contacts and advising anyone exposed to call their healthcare provider.
