Round Rock was ranked No. 10 best place to live in America — thanks to its safe neighborhoods, award-winning parks, historic downtown and diverse health care options — after Livability reviewed nearly 100 local factors to compare cities nationwide.
Round Rock will celebrate Preservation Month in May with a series of events showing our local history—starting with a Chuckwagon Dinner on May 2 from 6—8 p.m. at the Old Settlers Association, then Pioneer Day on May 3 from 10—3, a City Council proclamation on May 8 at 6, a Black History Tour on May 10 from 10—noon, a Lunch and Learn on May 13 from 12—1, an Exhibit Reception on May 15 from 4—6, a cemetery cleanup on May 17 from 9—noon, and monthlong art and antique exhibits at the Baca Center and Library.
Round Rock ISD robotics teams from McNeil and Westwood High Schools ended their season with strong showings at tournaments.
McNeil earned an 8-2 record and reached state finals while Westwood, after winning its regional title, placed 16th at the FIRST (World Championship) in Houston.
