- ➤ A severe hailstorm struck south and southeast Georgetown and east Round Rock on Tuesday night, damaging thousands of homes and vehicles with broken windows, dented exteriors, and cracked siding (roofing expert Michael Pickel estimated 40,000 to 50,000 properties were affected and advised residents to contact their insurers for repairs).
