- ➤ Round Rock ISD has paused planned bus route cuts next school year pending further community feedback + review. Parents at a board meeting on Thursday night welcomed the temporary decision and said they will continue to advocate for permanent transportation changes. CBS Austin
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Former Sheriff Ed Richards, who led Williamson County from 1993 to 2000, died late Wednesday, and the sheriff's office authorized mourning badges; his funeral will be on Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home (5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown) with a 9-to-10 a.m. visitation and a service ending at 11 a.m. CBS Austin

- ➤ A raccoon injured on I-35 was rescued by Round Rock Animal Control and treated at All Things Wild Rehabilitation after being found mid-March near McNeil Road — it recovered from surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia and was released near the overpass this week. CBS Austin
