Good morning, Round Rock.

Round Rock’s library is hosting a rotating exhibit featuring native fish from Brushy Creek on its 2nd floor window—formerly known as Rocksssanne—with minnows, shiners, sunfishes, Sailfin Mollies and a crayfish on loan.

The exhibit is provided by The Aquarium Company— in partnership with Living Waters Fly Fishing and Texas Parks & Wildlife —and will run for the next few months.

Round Rock police reported that on March 13 a neighbor stopped 30-year-old Joel Maske from abducting a 16-year-old on West Mesa Park Drive and on April 8 children escaped when masked men lured them with candy on East Mesa Park Drive—officials treat the cases separately while urging parents to discuss stranger safety.

Dr. Azaiez, the Round Rock ISD Superintendent, said more than 8,500 family volunteers helped our schools thrive this past week.

He praised a Partners in Education Foundation Scholarship Reception that honored 48 students (earning over $136K) and PTA events (drawing over 15,600 volunteers and grant support for more than 55 campuses) that supported our classrooms.

On March 27th, the board held its regular meeting and discussed changing middle school schedules, expanding teacher incentive allotment, and final plans for the upcoming school year along with updates on budgets and laws.

They approved staff recognitions and nominated Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez for an award—also noting events like Early Learning Day and a teacher hiring event on April 5th.
